Samsung launches 10 ANSI 'MBP-100' Micro-Projector
Samsung has never really been one for expensive, gaudy advertising campaigns, so their new devices and tech often slip under the radar. Take this 10 ANSI Micro-Projector, for example.
The MBP-100 is Samsung's (seemingly) first retail Micro-Projector, and essentially amounts to a tiny projection lamp inside a box, covered with input sockets, dials and buttons. It's also, keeping to the theme, black and shiny. the projector is designed for use with cellphones (samsung, no doubt), but can also be plugged into anything with standard Analogue AV connectors. No info on the possiblity of dedicated UMPC connection, but that's something that can be easily fixed with a VGA/DVI to AV dongle/converter.
The unit contains a dedicated battery (up to 2-3 hours, or one movie), and can project roughly 20" from 1.27 meters. It also has a handy brightness dial on the side.
It's expected to retail for roughly $200-300, and is being released sometime during March in South Korea. Samsung has announced no plans for world-wide distribution, so if you want this little black box of light, you'll need to get your import contacts on the line.
